The School of Foreign Languages comprises several Departments:

The Department of the German Language

The Department of the German language was created in 2003. It has been a universitywide department until March 3, 2014. In 2014 it has been integrated into the School of Foreign Languages.

The Department of the German language provides state-subsidized teaching of German at the Faculty of Humanities. The professors of the Department conduct commercial German classes at the HSE Centre of Language Teaching:

•         Foreign language (German), levels A1, A2, B1, B2
•        Tailored German programmes (Business German, German Business Writing, etc)
•        Performance pedagogy

The Department of the German language started working on the establishment of a licensable German Test DaF Exam Centre within the School of Foreign Languages. The manager Alla V. Chyurkina is responsible for:

•    Conducting meetings and negotiations with the representatives of TestDaF Institute (Germany);
•    Drawing up documents needed to apply for a licence.

  The HSE German Club gutgeD-A-CHt is open to everyone who is willing to learn more about the culture of German speaking countries, to watch German films, to celebrate traditional German holidays with friends. The Club welcomes everyone interested in the German language. Club’s meetings are held once a month in various formats: movie screenings, discussion clubs, holidays, mind games, cooking workshops. The Club also invites everyone to join our „cultural journeys“: performances, concerts, and exhibitions.
