Scientific and International Activities Unit of the School of Foreign Languages was established in April 2020.
This unit has been created to stimulate and provide support to research groups and research projects. It will also focus on both teachers’ and students’ academic activity. Therefore, along with already existing events that are successfully carried out, project teams, a series of Colloquium + consulting sessions, summer and winter schools with partner universities will be soon launched at the SFL.
In addition, the unit will continue to support student conferences and has plans for interactive events to popularize science and knowledge, involving colleagues from other departments and universities, including foreign institutions.
Before the seminar "Selected African American Poets from Harlem Renaissance to Our Present Time" as part of the project Colloquium+, Professor Alexandra Nagornaya interviewed Professor Yasser K. R. Aman.
Every March and April, the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) traditionally holds four student conferences. The conferences have much in common, but each of them still has their own history, traditions, and unique profile. While waiting for the student science marathon, we met with the organizers and asked them about the specific features of each conference and innovations for this year.
A Project group from the School of Foreign Languages is developing three blended online courses, English for Academic Purposes, Legal English, and Business English. We spoke to Diana Burimskaya, the head of the group, about these new initiatives.
