World Congress ‘East-West: the Intersection of Cultures’

Galina N. Gumovskaya, Academic Supervisor of Masters Programme ‘Foreign Languages and Cross-Cultural Communication’, took part in the Second World Congress ‘East-West: the Intersection of Cultures’.

The Congress (https://japan-congress2019.bsu.ge/) was held in Kyoto – the ancient capital of Japan, at the Technical University (Kyoto Sangyo University) between 2nd and 6th October, 2019. Scientists from various European, Asian and American universities took part in the meeting. The materials can be found in JARO, NII, SCOPUS databases with further indexation (two volumes)
Galina N. Gumovskaya gave a presentation on ‘Harmony as Principal of Structural Organization of Text’ in the first section ‘The Literary Horizons’. Each day among plenary and break-out sessions, round tables were established, dedicated to intercultural relations in the educational sphere and interdisciplinary liaisons in multicultural digital space.
Visitors also were invited on excursions around Kyoto and its surrounding area.
During the Congress there was a meeting with Japanese professors and students from the ‘Russian Studies’  faculty, who showed an interest in Russian culture and expressed a wish to do their Masters at HSE.
