SFL faculty not only successfully teach students the extremely complex language of the Celestial Empire, but also actively participate in international academic events on sinology.
Galina N. Gumovskaya, Academic Supervisor of Masters Programme ‘Foreign Languages and Cross-Cultural Communication’, took part in the Second World Congress ‘East-West: the Intersection of Cultures’.
On September 30, 2019, SFL held a workshop by Steve Phillips entitled ‘Cross Cultural issues: Business and Management’. The speaker is the Chairman of ‘English Today’ – a national association of British centres of education. Steve spoke about the basic rules of management and the importance of cross-cultural knowledge for doing successful business.
The School of Foreign Languages announces the appointment of a new Head of the Department and Undergraduate Programme Academic Supervisor.
On August 28, at an orientation session for foreign students at HSE University, graduates of the School of Foreign Languages presented an audio guide to help students navigate HSE University’s Basmannaya complex, as well as a printed guide, ‘Enjoy Moscow with Us!’, that contains 10 unique walking tours around Moscow.
On June 28, the School of Foreign Languages held a graduation ceremony for its new bachelor's and master's graduates.
Summer is not only a time for holidays, but also for new experiences. Two students from The School of Foreign Languages, Nastya Agapova and Timofey Leonov, have been continuing the work of the department's debate club. Nastya gave a master class for students, both from Moscow and abroad, and for the second year in a row, Timofey participated as both a coach and a judge in an international debate camp organized by the Cohen-Idov Centre for Rhetoric and Debate. As senior mentor, he also works with students from grades 7 to 11.
