Doctoral Programme

Since 2019, SOFL graduates have been eligible to continue their academic careers in our doctoral program, "Foreign Languages," within the field of study 5.9.6, "Languages of the Peoples of Foreign Countries (Germanic Languages)."

SOFL Doctoral students pursue cutting-edge dissertation research on topics central to the contemporary linguistic agenda. Their research explores discourse and discursive spaces, the cognitive mechanisms behind communicative strategies in modern literature, the linguistics of emotions, and metaphorology.

Doctoral students can also secure funding and support for their research by taking part in the HSE School of Foreign Languages' annual project competition.
