International Online Club «GLAGOL'»

The International Educational Online Club for Russian as a Foreign Language and Russian Culture «GLAGOL'» was established at the HSE School of Foreign Languages. It aims to introduce foreign citizens interested in learning Russian to the specifics of the Russian communicative culture, traditions, cultural and historical heritage, while assisting them to improve their proficiency in the Russian language.

Primary Target Audience:

- The international students of HSE and other Russian universities, as well as the students of international universities who study Russian as a foreign language and interested in the Russian culture;

- Beginner teachers of Russian as a foreign language;

- Foreign instructors of the Russian language, literature, and culture;

- Other applicants interested in the Russian language and culture.

How to join the online club?

To become a member of the online club, please fill out this application.

If you are unsure of your Russian language proficiency level, a short test will help you determine it.

Monthly activities within the project include:

  • Conversation Club

    A Russian-language speaking club is focused on the topics related to the Russian history, culture, and traditions.

    Participants will be required to take a brief placement test to determine their proficiency level in Russian.

    Minimum required proficiency level: A2.

  • Open Lectures

    The lectures by leading Russian and international specialists in teaching Russian as a foreign language, Russian culture, and literature.

    Recommended proficiency level: A2-B1.

The most active participants (those who attend at least 8 club events during the academic year) will receive electronic certificates confirming their active participation in the project.
